Who is the course for? 

Drinkaware's 2021 Monitor found 86% of UK adults drank alcohol. The vast majority do so within the Chief Medical Officers low risk drinking guidelines. However, as we have seen through the Covid pandemic people’s behaviours can change and some lifestyle changes can be detrimental to the wellbeing of employees. It is the responsibility of all to understand how the misuse of alcohol can impact health and wellbeing.

Alcohol misuse has a detrimental effect on organisations, productivity, employee motivation and in some cases health and safety. With an estimated 17 million sick days each due to alcohol misuse, organisation's have a responsibility to themselves and their employees to address this.
Providing employees with the essential facts about alcohol, so they are empowered to make good decisions regarding their alcohol consumption. The knowledge they gain can also help to reduce the risk of them endangering themselves or others.

What’s included in the e-learning programme? 

Our e-learning course explains all the facts about alcohol so that employees can make better choices about their drinking. 

The course comprises of three modules which take approximately 25-minutes to complete but can be taken in separate, bite size seven-to-eight-minute sessions. It’s possible to exit the course at any time allowing employees to pick up the course where they left off. There is also a short quiz at the end of each module to aid learning. On successful completion of the course a certificate can be downloaded. After completing the course all participants can take a short quiz to help them better understand their own drinking.

• How many units are there in different alcoholic drinks?

Module Two: Health harms associated with alcohol
• Alcohol can have a range of effects on the body and mind
• This module explains the health risks associated with harmful levels of drinking

Module Three: Impact of alcohol in and around work
• How to handle concerns about someone else’s drinking habits
• Learners have the opportunity to evaluate employee’s personal drinking patterns

Is this course accessible? 

The course is written in clear and easy to understand language, the videos themselves are also subtitled. The style is fun, interactive and engaging, supporting employees to learn about the effects of alcohol and its related harm. 

How can we access the course? 

Our e-learning can be integrated with existing Learning Management Systems (LMS) or can be hosted by Drinkaware. Courses hosted on the Drinkaware platform allow for the tracking of course progress and scores. We will provide a link which enabling employees access to the course 

Is the course accredited? 

The course is accredited by the CPD Certification Service.
